Details Emerge For Eastbanc’s Adams Morgan Project

After receiving some pushback from the ANC and area residents, Eastbanc has provided some more details for its planned residential project in Adams Morgan.

Eastbanc submitted plans a few months back for a large-scale residential project at the site of an enclosed surface parking lot adjacent to the Scottish Rite Center at 2800 16th St NW. The ANC and area residents expressed concerns about the height and massing of the proposed building, prompting Eastbanc to provide more details and updated renderings, Urban Turf reports.

Plans call for a nine-story, horseshoe-shaped building that will include between 90 and 120 units, a rooftop pool, and underground parking that would span two levels. Also included are a ground-floor gym, a café and lounge, and a large courtyard. The development team has provided a better picture of the height of the proposed buildings in relation to its surroundings, as well as some panoramic views that may show the community how well the building would fit in with the neighborhood.

Eastbanc has proven pretty adaptable when it runs into concerns or snags on new development. Just last month, the company changed its strategy from a zoning text amendment to a simple exception from the Zoning Commission to allow a planned project at the site of a Georgetown gas station to move forward. [UT]
