Former Shaw Halfway House Prepares for Rehab
A Lock 7 development at 1514 8th St NW, formerly home to the organization Efforts From Ex-Convicts, will become a nine-unit luxury condo building, reports the Washington Post. The new Square 134 Architects-designed condo (above) will have a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units with the 1,226 SF three-bedroom units boasting top-floor placement and private rooftop terraces. Lock 7 bought the Shaw property last fall, and passed the approvals process with the City’s Board of Zoning Adjustment and the Historic Preservation Office with flying colors. Delivery is slated for early 2016.
