Micro-Units Are Coming Back To Georgetown
A former retirement community at 2512 Q S NW in Georgetown may have a new incarnation in its future as a short-term, micro-unit rental development.
The Holladay Corp has plans to convert The Georgetown, which has been empty since 2014, into a 96-unit rental development. The minimum lease term for the planned units would be 30 days, Urban Turf reports.
Plans are in the early stages, but units are slated to range from 350 to 535 SF. Holladay's planned development would be matter-of-right, but will still need approval from the Old Georgetown Board.
The Georgetown is just a few blocks away from the former Latham Hotel on M Street, a site which SB-Urban had planned to convert into micro-units before selling the building to Thor Equities last September for $53M. SB-Urban remains a player in the DC micro-unit market, with other projects on tap for Dupont Circle and Blagden Alley. [UT]
