Former JLL SVP Kenyattah Robinson has been hired as president and CEO of the Mt. Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District.

Robinson, a longtime resident of Mount Vernon Triangle, will be tasked with the enhancement and economic development of the growing community, and will take the helm at the CID on April 11. He brings more than 17 years of experience in real estate finance, policy and public affairs to the table.

Most recently, Robinson served as SVP and national director for the Public Institutions Team at JLL. In his DC-based position, Robinson advised federal, state and local governments on real estate and facilities decisions. He had been leading a Department of Veterans Affairs initiative to redevelop vacant and underutilized land and improvements at eight VA Medical Centers, according to JLL's website.

Mount Vernon Triangle has been noted as one of the hottest real estate markets in the region, and an area that has been particularly desirable to Millennials, who continue to scoop up the scores of new condos and rental units in the area. It's also the most recent winner of a major private sector office deal, after The Advisory Board decided to locate to about 500k SF of office space at 655 New York Ave NW last September.
