New Kids On The Block: Montgomery County
Park Potomac
Foulger-Pratt is one of its own first tenants in the developer's new Park Potomac complex at Montrose Road and 270 in Potomac. In addition to the new company HQ, the office building at 12435 Park Potomac Ave will house popular Bethesda restaurant Gringos and Mariachis on the ground floor and structural engineering firm Smislova, Kehnemui & Associates. When completed, the entire development will total 570k SF of office, 150k SF of retail and a 200-room hotel.
Transit Centers
The new Westfield-Montgomery Mall transit center will open on May 1. The expansion will add six bus bays and three bus layover spaces to the network, as well as allow for better traffic flow and much more room for both buses and passengers. It's another indicator of the long-term trend towards a more filled-in, connected Montgomery County.
Wheaton Triangle
StonebridgeCarras and the Bozzuto Group have partnered to build a new Montgomery County Office building, along with additional residential and retail space, in Wheaton Triangle.
Currently occupying the development's future home at 2424 Reedie Dr are a Regional Services Center, a green space and a large parking lot. All will be replaced with a 12-story, 265k SF headquarters for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (among other county offices), new retail space on Triangle Lane, a town square next to the Wheaton Metro Station, a 395-space underground parking garage, and a 17-story 204-unit apartment complex.
