Ivanka and Reston
DC was a hot topic in New York yesterday and we were on the scene at two big events.
We snapped Ivanka Trump at the NYU Hotel Conference at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, reporting the company is a week away from naming the chef for Old Post Office luxury hotel. Trump also is considering entering the race for another GSA fortress, the FBI’s J. Edgar Hoover Building. She says the fact that they're already working on one hotel on Pennsylvania Ave gives them scale to more easily work on another down the street. If Trump did win the right to redevelop the Hoover Building, DC would be the only city other than New York to host two Trump hotels, she says.
Over at REITWeek at the Waldorf-Astoria, we snapped Boston Properties prez Doug Linde, who reported the firm is marketing the 100% GSA-leased Patriots Park complex. The 705k SF, three-building park on Sunrise Valley Drive was bolstered last year by a new lease with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which took an entire building at Three Patriots Park, the newest of the three buildings. Doug had more DC news at REITWeek: Boston Properties is in discussions with a buyer for its Avenue apartments in the West End, which has been on the market since late last year.
