Moving to MoCo? Here's Some Cash
Yesterday, Ike Leggett (whom we snapped at our Montgomery County Forecast last month) made a big offer to companies in Montgomery County. Firms that relocate to or form in the county will receive $4/SF in rental assistance for first-year leases, provided the space is at least 2,000 SF. (Bit big for our lemonade stand, but maybe if we expand into Arnold Palmer's.) The assistance is all part of the county's MOVE (Make Office Vacancies Extinct) program, which aims to cut down on MoCo's double-digit vacancy rate. The offering will be capped at 10k SF or $40k per company, the county says.
