PWC's Bioscience Push
No, this isn't the world's cleanest employee break room. Prince William County economic development officials started talking about opening a bioscience accelerator with the area’s only wet lab space over a year ago. After a few delays, including one to redesign the space to allow for more flexibility, the accelerator will officially open next Wednesday. The 9,000 SF space (9385 Discovery Blvd) in Manassas has its first tenant—ISOThrive, a life sciences startup that moved in a few weeks ago. The county, which authorized up to $1.2M for the project, sees the accelerator as a catalyst for growing a life sciences cluster, with startups and early stage companies getting their start in the space. It’s a stone's throw from GMU and two hospital networks.
