US Still a Safe Investment Haven
That was the wisdom handed down to ULI Washington's Young Leaders Group last week by HFF's Alan Davis (left), who gave an update on the state of the investment and finance market along with colleague Walter Coker at CoStar's L Street HQ. Foreign investors will continue to park money in the US in order to diversify investments outside of their own country and currency, Alan says, as well as to obtain better risk-adjusted returns here. Canada is providing the most foreign investment currently, he says. (We should be neighborly and return their lawn mower.) The effect is being seen on prices, too, Alan says: overall, investment sale prices have increased 71% since the bottom of the recession.
