Goodstone Taps JLL To Lease Vacant Rockville Office Building, Plans $10M Renovation
D.C.-based Goodstone LLC acquired a vacant Rockville office building, formerly occupied by the National Institutes of Health, from a special servicer for $9.5M in April after the previous owner foreclosed on the property.
Now the investor has tapped JLL to lease the vacant 217K SF office building at 6116 Executive Blvd. and is planning a $10M renovation.
The renovations will include a new fitness center, a conference facility, a café, a visitor lounge and an upper-floor terrace with outdoor seating.
“The capital improvement efforts of Goodstone will very quickly showcase this property as a standout in this highly competitive suburban Maryland landscape,” JLL Managing Director Bernie McCarthy said in a release.
The property sits less than a mile from the Pike & Rose development and the White Flint Metro station.
“Tenants who are looking to transition from the higher rental rates of downtown Bethesda, but still want to be Metro and amenity accessible, will find 6116 Executive Blvd. the perfect solution for their needs,” Goodstone President Stephen Durr said.
