JLL Moving Its DC Office To 2020 K St NW, Occupying 71k SF
JLL is used to helping DC firms find new office space, but now it is acting as its own client as it moves its DC office a couple of blocks down K Street.
The brokerage firm will occupy the top two floors of LaSalle Investment Management's 2020 K St. NW. The 70,651 SF lease represents a consolidation from its previous 84k SF spread at 1801 K St. NW. JLL managing directors Chris Bynum and Joe Judge represented the firm.
The 11-story, 410k SF building JLL will move into in Q4 is anchored by design firm Gensler. JLL is working with one of Gensler's DC competitors, Hickok Cole, to design an office with 25% more shared workspace than its current digs, with a larger welcoming area, conference rooms and a new café.
“Our primary goal was to balance the needs of employees by finding a space that would allow for more opportunities to interact and share resources, including the addition of an internal café," JLL Southeast market director Michael Ellis said in a release. "2020 K Street will create a sense of unity and teamwork for our people and clients and will continue to achieve our vision to be the best place to work in commercial real estate."
