Meridian Lands Another Office Tenant At Anthem Row
Within two weeks of signing a law firm to anchor its Anthem Row redevelopment, The Meridian Group has signed another tenant to keep the momentum going.
The Information Technology Industry Council signed a 21K SF lease on the sixth floor of the 700 K St. NW development, moving east from 1101 K St.
The advocacy group for the tech sector signed an 11-year lease and plans to move in December 2019. JLL's Evan Behr and Doug Mueller represented Meridian, while JLL's Creighton Armstrong and Kevin Brant represented the tenant.
“We could not be happier to welcome the tech sector’s global voice to Anthem Row,” Meridian Group President David Cheek said in a release. “ITI features the foremost experts on technology, so the fact that they chose 700 K for their U.S. headquarters speaks volumes about the state-of-the-art buildings at Anthem Row.”
Meridian in early 2017 launched a $142M renovation of the property at the corner of Seventh and K streets NW. It is separating the property into two addresses, the trophy 700 K building with 274K SF of office space and 800 K, with 113K SF of boutique Class-A space. It is creating a new lobby facing K Street for the 700 K building and a ninth-story outdoor terrace overlooking the Carnegie Library, which is under renovation to become a flagship Apple store.
The project will also have three levels of retail totaling 80K SF, including the Eighth Street pedestrian promenade Meridian has dubbed Anthem Row. It signed luxury health club Equinox to 34K SF and Truluck’s Seafood, Steak & Crab House to 10K SF.
