Rockrose, Spitzer Land Consulting Firm For 80K SF At Alexander Court
Rockrose Development and Spitzer Enterprises have signed a new deal to bring the JV's Alexander Court redevelopment to 70% leased ahead of its Q1 2018 opening.
Economic consulting firm Bates White signed on to lease roughly 85K SF at 2000 L St. NW, Alexander Court's north building that is being expanded and connected to 2001 K St. NW, the Washington Business Journal reports.
With the 15-year lease, the firm will move across the central business district from 1300 I St. NW, its home for the last 10 years. CBRE's Kevin Howard represented Bates White, while Avison Young's Will Stern and Greg Tomasso represented Rockrose and Spitzer.
Rockrose acquired 2000 L St. NW in 2013 and teamed up with former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer to combine it with 2001 K St. NW to create an 800K SF trophy office building. A 12-story atrium will connect the buildings, and the tenants will have access to a rooftop terrace and a 7,500 SF fitness center.
The deal comes six months after the owners landed Alexander Court's largest new tenant, signing law firm Akin Gump for 185K SF on the top four floors of 2000 L. In July 2016, the owners landed Cornerstone Research for 43K SF at 2000 L and renewed a lease at 2001 K with law firm Paul, Weiss, which expanded from 51K SF to 62K SF.
