Rockville Lands U.S. Headquarters For London Biotech Company
Montgomery County's booming life sciences market just scored another win.
London-based biopharmaceutical firm Autolus plans to open its U.S. headquarters and a research facility in Rockville, the Washington Business Journal reports.
The firm signed a deal with developer Alexandria Real Estate Equities to build an 85K SF office and research building at 9950 Medical Center Drive. The developer's plans are scheduled to go before the Montgomery County Planning Board Thursday.
The deal follows Alexandria Real Estate Equities' November lease with RegenxBio for a 132K SF build-to-suit headquarters on a nearby Rockville site. The deals represent continued momentum for Montgomery County's life sciences market, which has been one of the fastest-growing sectors in the region in recent years.
