Rolls-Royce Moving North American HQ To New Reston Office Building
Rolls-Royce North America is cruising 2 miles down the Dulles Toll Road into a new Reston office building next year.
The company, which manufacturers propulsion engines, plans to move its North American headquarters into Comstock's Reston Station, the developer announced Friday. A Comstock spokesperson tells Bisnow the company is leasing about 17K SF.
The deal, first reported to be under consideration by RestonNow, will move Rolls-Royce from its current home at Reston Town Center. The company employs 7,000 people across the U.S.
"Rolls-Royce has made its impact on the world throughout history and they continue to be a global force in business and manufacturing," Comstock Executive Vice President Tim Steffan said in a release. "Comstock understands the importance that the Rolls-Royce brand means to Reston Station and together our respective executive teams worked to make their new home here a reality."
The company will move into the fourth floor of 1900 Reston Metro Plaza, the development's first office building designed by Helmut Jahn. Comstock earlier this year landed Google for 100K SF at the 16-story building, and last year it signed coworking provider Spaces for 40K SF.
As it achieves success on Reston Station's first spec office building, Comstock is developing two more office buildings on spec next door. The developer has broken ground on a 180K SF office building at 1906 Reston Metro Plaza and a 250K SF office building at 1902 Reston Metro Plaza.
Comstock has also completed a 448-unit apartment building at Reston Station and opened a Founding Farmers, Starbucks and Sweet Leaf Cafe. In May, it inked a deal with Marriott International to bring its Renaissance brand to a 250-room hotel at the development, built at the entrance to the Wiehle Avenue Metro stop, the terminus of Phase 1 of Metro's Silver Line extension.
