Spaces, a co-working concept from Dutch firm Regus, plans to open its third D.C.-area location in Chevy Chase

JBG Smith has signed the co-working provider to a 19,300 SF lease in Chase Tower at 4445 Willard Ave. Transwestern's Phil McCarthy, Keith Foery and Mark Boyce represented the landlord in the deal.

Just across the District border in Maryland, the 251K SF building is a short walk from the Friendship Heights Metro station. It sits next to a large retail center with a Whole Foods, Capital Grille, Bloomingdale's and a host of other food and soft goods offerings. The building currently serves as JBG Smith's HQ, but the developer plans to leave in 2019 to occupy a new Downtown Bethesda project it is building.

“Chase Tower is a vibrant mixed-use environment with ample restaurant and retail options at its doorstep,” McCarthy said in a release. “Chevy Chase is an excellent location for Spaces, as it boasts one of the highest concentrations of professional and financial service firms in the Washington metro area and attracts a highly educated and diverse workforce.”

Spaces opened its first D.C. location earlier this year in NoMa, occupying 44K SF at Douglas Development's Uline Arena. It has also signed on to occupy the 45K SF former Artisphere space at Monday Properties' 1101 Wilson Blvd. in Rosslyn
