Meridian Lures Tech Company From East End To Rosslyn

The Meridian Group has lured a growing tech company away from DC's East End to its newly acquired building in the R-B corridor

Knowland, a provider of meeting and group data for the hospitality industry, has signed on for 12K SF at Meridian's International Place in Rosslyn. Knowland will move from its 4,800 SF office at 623 H St. NW.

Cushman & Wakefield's John Benziger and Jennifer Brody brokered the deal for Knowland while the landlord was represented by Avison Young's Nick Gregorios, Dave Millard and Peter Berk.

Meridian acquired International Place, a 12-story, 239K SF office building at 1735 Lynn St., in June from Beacon Capital Partners for just over $100M. The building sits across the street from JBG's soon-opening Central Place, which consists of two 31-story towers, one office and one residential, above a retail plaza.

Knowland's move from DC to Rosslyn follows the Grocery Manufacturing Association, which last month signed a deal to move from the central business district to Brookfield's Potomac Tower, a move that came on the heels of Nestle's deal to anchor 1812 North Moore St.

“A move to Rosslyn made sense for us,” Knowland CEO Tim Hart said in a release. “We have been growing rapidly, beyond the capacity of our offices in downtown DC. This new location provides the space we need as we continue to expand the business.”
