The Donohoe Cos Moving HQ From DC To Bethesda
The Donohoe Cos, one of DC's oldest real estate dynasties, is moving out of the city in which it was founded, signing a 45k SF lease at Brandywine Realty Trust's 7101 Wisconsin Ave in downtown Bethesda.
The company has been at its current home at 2101 Wisconsin Ave for 38 years, but in July it will move to two separate locations: the HQ in Bethesda for corporate HQ and construction, real estate, hospitality, and development divisions; and 5151 Wisconsin Ave NW in DC for the Complete Building Services sector of the company, occupying 12k SF of space in the building Donohoe owns in a JV.
”Our continued growth and success has paved the way for expansion into larger, new, vibrant offices in Bethesda,” Donohoe president/COO Chris Bruch says. "With this move we are proud to plant roots in Bethesda, a thriving business district, as well as maintain a significant presence in the District where the business began in 1884.”
Donohoe is leaving 45k SF at 2101 Wisconsin, which the Donohoe family owns, to expand to 57k SF total. It plans to add 40 employees over the next five years, part of the condition under which Donohoe was granted $600k in incentives from Maryland and Montgomery County.
