Tishman Speyer Lands 97k SF Law Firm Pre-Lease At Its CBS News Building
The 11-story trophy office building Tishman Speyer is building for CBS News just landed a law firm to fill the top three floors.
Paul Hastings signed a 97k SF, 16-year lease in the 2050 M St NW building, the New York City-based landlord announced Monday. The law firm is leaving its home at 875 15th St NW, where it moved in 2005.
Tishman Speyer bought CBS' DC office in 2015 for $30.5M, along with the adjacent building at 2030 M St NW for $49M, with plans to develop a state-of-the-art DC HQ for the media company.
It is building the 364k SF building in two parts, with separate entrances. The CBS portion is expected to deliver in 2018 and the rest of the building will be ready by 2020.
"With leasing momentum now established three full years in advance of delivery," Tishman Speyer senior managing director Paul DeMartini said in a release, "we look forward to attracting additional blue-chip tenants as we make 2050 M Street one of the District’s most iconic office properties.”
