A nine-story office tower within Ballston's eight-building Liberty Center complex has traded hands for $72M.

New York-based Westbrook Partners acquired Two Liberty Center, a 177K SF building constructed in 2007 at 4075 Wilson Blvd., just two blocks from the Ballston Metro station.

HFF's Jim Meisel, Sue Carras, Andrew Weir, Steve Conley and Matt Nicholson brokered the deal on behalf of the seller, the Fred Schnider Investment Group.

Tenants at Two Liberty Center include Raytheon and Strategic Analysis. Last month, TechSpace signed on to open a 20K SF co-working space in the building, its first in the D.C. area.

Fred Schnider partnered with Shooshan Cos. to develop the 2.25M SF Liberty Center complex, delivering the first component in 2005. Plans are underway for the final component, a 22-story vertical mixed-use building with two floors of retail, eight floors of office and 12 floors of residential.

Westbrook last year acquired the 257-unit Flats at Atlas multifamily building in Northeast D.C. Also in 2016, it sold two adjacent office buildings in D.C.'s East End to Tokyo-based Unizo, D.C.'s most active investor over the last two years.
