John McEnearney: 1926-2014.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, and colleagues of John McEnearney, founder of Alexandria-based real estate firm McEnearney Associates, who passed away yesterday at the age of 87. (He's snapped here with daughter Maureen, one of his six children.) A graduate of the Naval Academy, John became a residential broker the day he retired from the Navy in 1976, and later founded McEnearney Associates and grew the firm from a small residential brokerage to a full-service company, including commercial leasing and property management. Charity was a big part of John's life too, and he was an active supporter of The Hopkins House, Stop Child Abuse Now, Alexandria Senior Services, and Children’s National Medical Center, among other organizations.
