Crystal City’s Oktoberfest is returning for its second annual celebration in 2019 at a new location and with a new partner: local Arlington craft brewery New District Brewing

“After welcoming a sellout crowd of nearly 2,000 people in its inaugural year, Oktoberfest is back by popular demand,” said Tracy Gabriel, the president and executive director of the Crystal City Business Improvement District. “We are thrilled to partner with New District Brewing — Arlington’s only brewery — to create an even more memorable experience for all of our attendees.”

The partnership with New District, combined with the new location, brings an updated vibe and enhanced experience to Oktoberfest guests. This year’s event will be held at The Grounds, an art and public activation space that sits at the hinge between Crystal City and Pentagon City — a nod to the organization’s efforts to extend its boundaries to include Pentagon City.

The temporary activation space, which includes an original mural from No Kings Collective, was the site of last year’s monthlong installation of Impulse and is a creative collaboration between the Crystal City BID and developer LCOR. The goal has been to activate the area while the site’s proposed 12th Street Apartments project awaits approval.

This year’s Oktoberfest will feature a selection of local beers, as well as a variety of food trucks and vendors serving up traditional German fare.

As a new attraction for beer enthusiasts, four local breweries will be pouring custom beers, available only during Crystal City Oktoberfest. Each of the breweries’ most popular beers will also be available. Attendees will be able to enjoy live entertainment and visit unique vendors while enjoying the specialty food and drink offerings.

General admission tickets are $30 in advance. They include admission to the festival, a full-sized custom mug and drink tickets redeemable for all four exclusive beers. VIP tickets are also available and include early admission and additional drink tickets.
