DC Adding 15M SF in Next 10 Years
The rapid development in The District over recent years will only continue over the next 10 years. The city will add over 15M SF of real estate to the market, according to The Office of Deputy Mayor’s Planning and Economic Development. Large projects such as the Waterfront and Capitol Crossing will help Ward 6 see the most substantial gains, while Ward 3 will be untouched by the plan. More than half of the new development will be residential, including a much-needed influx of affordable housing units. Ward 6, which spans Capitol Hill, Chinatown and the Waterfront, is the only ward that will increase SF across all categories. [DataLens]
