Denise Roth: GSA Should Spur Economic Development
Newly appointed GSA administrator Denise Roth believes the agency can be an economic catalyst for the region. She addressed the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments on Wednesday and pledged to make economic development one of her top priorities. Roth expressed her desire to work in conjunction with the Council of Governments to identify which parts of the region could benefit most from the agency’s presence. She acknowledged some of the challenges GSA has faced and hopes to implement solutions to address them, pledging to “plan ahead,” she told the Washington Business Journal. Roth, former city manager for Greensboro, NC, was nominated to the post in May and sworn in last month. She replaces Dan Tangherlini, who resigned earlier this year. [WBJ]
