Property Management Prom
If this crew was out at a big awards show, who was running all of DC's buildings? Local property managers hit up the Fairmont last night for AOBA's annual TOBY awards, and we were on hand to snap all the big winners. Transwestern's Chris Guay (second from left) took home one of the night's biggest awards, Commercial Engineer of the Year, for his hard work overseeing all management efforts at Gallery Place. Snapped here with colleagues Marty Kelly, Josh Turnbull, and Eric Mockler, Chris tells us the new owners of Gallery Place (Oxford Property Group and an affiliate of the AFL-CIO) have retained Transwestern as the building manager following last month's $200M-plus purchase.
Vornado/Charles E. Smith property management chief Joan Berman (left) was one of the night's esteemed emcees (along with Bisnow's very own Doug Anderson). She's snapped here with Tishman Speyer's Sean Warfield, AOBA's president-elect for 2015, and AOBA executive VP Peggy Jeffers.
Akridge's Carroll Square management team took home two big prizes: Grand Winner and top building between 100k to 249k SF. Other winners: Boston Properties' 2200 Penn for buildings between 250k to 499k SF, Paramount Group's Waterview for 500k to 1M SF, WRIT's 2000 M St for Earth Building, and WRIT again for 6110 Executive Blvd for Renovated Building.
