First Potomac Realty Building Wins Big At TOBY Awards
The Apartment and Office Building Association held its 32nd annual TOBY Awards this week, honoring the most outstanding buildings in the Washington, DC, region.
First Potomac Realty Trust took home the biggest award of the night for its Atlantic Corporate Park in Loudoun County. Above, First Potomac's Allison Fredericks, who manages the building, accepts the award.
First Potomac also won the 100k-249,999 SF category for its 1750 H St property. JLL won the 250k-499,999 SF category for 800 17th St. MRP Realty's Bethesda Crossing won the renovated building award.
While most of the awards were given to buildings, two individuals were recognized as well. Vornado/Charles E. Smith's Luis Miranda was named Commercial Chief/Lead Engineer of the Year and S.C. Herman and Associates Dwayne Walker was named Building Engineer/Maintenance Technician of the Year.
For the first time, AOBA's emergency preparedness committee handed out K.E.E.P awards. These awards recognize excellence in emergency preparedness. The recipients were Brookfield's 1200 K St, Vornado/Charles E. Smith's 1875 Connecticut Ave and 1101 17th St. Above, a team from Vornado with the night's emcees, Cushman & Wakefield's Ben Comm (far left) and Carr Properties Rich Greninger (far right).
The ceremony was held at the Fairmont in Foggy Bottom, where 300 attendees feasted on lobster and steak dinners.
