German Grocer Lidl Eyes NoVa, College Park For Expansion
One year after purchasing the 217k SF National Gateway building in Arlington (above), Germany-based grocer Lidl is buying up several Northern Virginia sites for its planned US expansion.
The discount grocer recently acquired a 5.3-acre site in Leesburg for $3.1M, its fourth Northern Virginia purchase this year, the Washington Business Journal reports.
Lidl has also acquired a 7.8-acre site in Dumfries, a 2.9-acre site in Woodbridge and a 3.1-acre site in Bristol. In addition, it is applying to build a 36k SF store in College Park near Baltimore Avenue and Berwyn Road. [WBJ]
