Ted's Bulletin One Of 12 New Dining Options Signed On At Ballston Quarter
With the fall opening of Forest City's Ballston Quarter redevelopment fast approaching, the developer has unveiled another round of new retail tenants.
Forest City Thursday announced 12 new dining options that will open at Ballston Quarter, bringing the total number of signed food and beverage tenants to 22. The tenants are as follows:
- D.C.-based American dining concept Ted's Bulletin will open its seventh location in a 4,534 SF space. The brand was acquired in November and its new owner signaled plans for further expansion.
- Chick-fil-A, which previously occupied the Ballston Common Mall food court, will return to the redevelopment in a 2,925 SF space.
- Union Kitchen Grocery will open a 2,812 SF store on the ground floor of Ballston Quarter's residential tower, the fourth retail location for the food business incubator.
- All About Burger will open in a 2,793 SF storefront, its fifth location.
- Casual seafood restaurant Slapfish will open in a 2,314 SF space, its 12th location nationwide and second on the East Coast.
- Compass Coffee will open in a 2,170 SF space on the first floor of the residential tower, its eighth location and first outside of the District.
- The Local Oyster will open its second location and first in the D.C. area in a 1,495 SF space.
- Fast-casual Mediterranean concept Mezeh will open in a 1,932 SF space, its ninth location.
- Micro juicery South Block will open a 1,231 SF location in the ground floor of the residential tower, its 10th store in the region.
- South American restaurant Maizal will occupy 843 SF in the Quarter Market food hall.
- Pop-up sandwich shop French Exit will open its first brick-and-mortar store in an 820 SF space in the food hall.
- Sloppy Mama's BBQ will open a 120 SF space in the food hall, its second stand-alone location after its space in Union Market.
These new offerings come after Forest City in December announced the first slate of dining options, including Mexican restaurant Bartaco and Italian eatery Cucina Al Volo. Food will also be served at Punch Bowl Social, the 25K SF bowling alley and arcade concept anchoring the project.
Ballston Quarter will feature at least three other experiential retail tenants and several soft goods retailers. The full development will include 360K SF of retail, the 25K SF food hall, a 406-unit residential tower and 176K SF of offices.
"Our overall mission for Ballston Quarter is to feature some of the most unique, trendsetting restaurants and reimagined brands possible, with a strong focus on best-in-class regional favorites," Forest City Senior Vice President of Development Will Voegele said in a release.
