120-Unit Assisted Living Project Moving Forward In Bethesda

Placeholder

The Montgomery County Planning Board is expected to approve a plan for an eight-story, 120-unit assisted living building in Bethesda next week.

The board will vote on Baltimore-based Brightview Senior Living's plan on July 14. The plan calls to replace two, one-story commercial buildings and a surface parking lot on Rugby Avenue with a 90-foot-tall, 120-unit senior living facility, Bethesda Magazine reports.

The plans are just another piece of the redevelopment of Woodmont Triangle, one of the busiest development mini-markets in the region.

Brightview is also building a 195-unit assisted living facility in Rockville and a 100-unit facility near Bethesda's Grosvenor mansion. The development site is just a few blocks from the Bethesda Metro station, where a battle is brewing over Brookfield's plan to build a 290-foot building. [BETH]
