DC Water’s New HQ in Navy Yard Will Be Eco-Friendly
The proposed new HQ for DC Water near Nationals Park is set to become the HQ’s most sustainable construction project ever. The $55M, 167k SF project will feature a “variegated green rainscreen panel system,” an aluminum curtain wall and a pump station that will use wastewater for heat recovery. Other features include a green roof and rooftop seating, interactive exhibit space, a boardwalk and entry court. The new HQ is expected to save up to $2M per year in maintenance and operating expenses. Current plans call for the HQ to remain off limits to the public. [Curbed]
