Amazon Lured to NOVA

Amazon Web Services announced today it's expanding its DC area footprint with a new office in Herndon, Va. Expected to add 500 new jobs, the office will support IT engineering and services for commercial and government customers of AWS cloud services. Fairfax County Economic Development Authority president Jerry Gordon got a $500k grant from the state to get Amazon to expand in the county. The state will also help with recruiting and training for the company. Details on the location and square footage of the Herndon office were not released by Fairfax County and Amazon has not responded to a phone message.
