Gov Workers Getting An Education
Fluidhire founder Ian Jones says government IT workers may not know the DC region is filled with startups and commercial software firms that might offer better job satisfaction. So he's organizing an April event in Tysons to educate gov workers on the good and bad of working in the DC commercial sector. It's strictly an educational panel and not a recruiting event, which is why some of the downsides of non-government jobs will be discussed. Startups like AddThis and CustomInk are already lined up to talk.Inspiration came from conversations Ian had with government workers who were doing interesting tech work but felt held back by regulations on how creative they could be.
