RFP-EZ Attracts Hundreds, Awards One Contract
The Presidential Innovation Fellows delivered RFP-EZ to small businesses about two months ago with the promise that it'll make government contracting easier. So far 550 companies have registered, with about halfnew to government contracting, says the SBA. At least 49 bids have already come through and one business was awarded a contract to build a new HHS website. The deadline for bids on the remaining projects was recently extended to March 23. They include building an SBIC website, enhancement of SBIR/TechNet, and an email system for SBA's SBIR program. RFP-EZ has listed IT projects, but SBA wants its second version to listother types of fed work. The White House is also looking for its next round of fellows. (Perhaps someone with a system to keep "legalize pot" from rising to the top of every crowdsourced initiative.)
