Samsung's venture capital arm announced this week that it pumped an undisclosed amount of money into Sterling, Va.-based Fixmo. Federal government sales and strategySVP Randy Siegel says amajor portion of the money will go toward R&D to enhance the company's mobile security, particularly for government. Agencies and enterprise customers already use it for securing and managing mobile devices, business applications, and private data across company-owned and employee-owned smartphones and tablets. Randysays agencies have been reluctant to widely deploy mobile tech for lines of business other than messaging. And secure enterprise mobility, BYOD, and personal privacy protection are growing telecom areas. The company just raised money from Motorola last August and has over $30M from three funding rounds.
