Oracle Buys AddThis
Oracle announced this week it’s buying Vienna-based AddThis, which provides social media share buttons on web pages. It also sells audience tracking technology for online publishers and marketers. The company, launched by Hooman Radfar (above) in October 2004, covers activity data for 1.9 billion monthly unique visitors and over 15 million mobile and desktop web domains.
The companies did not release the terms of the deal, but a source who asked to not be identified tells us it’s in the region of $200M. AddThis raised $73M from investors like Steve Case, Ted Leonsis, NEA and Novak Biddle.
Oracle says it will continue to serve existing clients of AddThis, but it’s evaluating its future product road map. AddThis will become part of Oracle’s Data Cloud business, which includes other recent Oracle acquisitions—BlueKai and Datalogix. [TC]
