Urgent.ly Raises $7M
McLean-based Urgent.ly announced Tuesday it raised $7M in Series A funding from Allianz Digital Corporate Ventures, Verizon Ventures and Forte Ventures. The company developed an on-demand roadside assistance service that includes automatic accident detection alerts for family members. The company, whose tech is used by over 200,000 drivers, is using the money to grow more quickly and expand its nationwide operations. It's also working on an integration with mapped and connected car platforms, including AT&T Drive, Cost2Drive and MapQuest.
