New Intel Fund Boosts Women and Minorities
Intel Capital is creating a $125M Diversity Fund to invest in tech startups led by women and underrepresented minorities. Intel Capital managing director Lisa Lambert will lead the fund, the largest of its kind, according to GeekWire. It’s not the only recent attempt to fund more women and minority-led firms; angel investor and Seattle entrepreneur Jonathan Sposato recently said he would only invest in companies with at least one woman on the founding team; Comcast Ventures has a $20M fund focused on minority entrepreneurs; and AOL launched a fund last year focused on women entrepreneurs.
