UberOffices Is Now MakeOffices

The popular co-working space UberOffices has changed its name to MakeOffices as part of a rebranding away from the Uber ridesharing app. MakeOffices CEO Raymond Rahbar told The Washington Post the Uber name selection was coincidental, as both surfaced around 2009. The company also opened a new 42k SF co-working space near the future Reston Town Center Metro stop. The company has an option of taking another floor, which would make it the largest site in the MakeOffices portfolio. At least eight companies have committed to setting up shop in the new space, which includes 112 private offices spread across two floors, 52 open seating areas and 13 common-use conference rooms. The company also plans to expand to Chicago later this month and Philly in January. NYC was also listed as "coming soon" on its website. [WaPo]
