Opening Tomorrow: Macon Bistro and Larder
A suit and tie-clad consultant with a Georgetown Business School degree put down his briefcase to open a restaurant. Tony Brown will fling open the doors to Macon Bistro and Larder in Chevy Chase on May 10. His Southern upbringing and world travel are reflected in his affordable menu of comfort food. Entrees top out at $24, and Tony expects the short ribs on stone-ground grits to be a top seller. He utilized Kickstarter to help fund his passion project. “The money was great, but the Kickstarter created a sense of community; a sense of ownership,” he tells us. Some contributors will see their names on bar stools upon being warmly welcomed. It’s all a part of a larger goal to be a true neighborhood gem.
