Farm-to-Taco Concept Coming to DC
A Union Kitchen food incubator alum, Chaia, is opening its first brick-and-mortar store with a focus on the freshest ingredients possible. Called a "farm-to-taco joint" by the Washington Business Journal, Chaia has applied for a building permit at 3207 Grace St NW in Georgetown along the C&O Canal. The 1,400 SF restaurant will have seating for 22 on two floors. If you're a taco enthusiast and can't wait to eat their homemade tortillas and farm-sourced cabbage and meats, they aren't waiting to feed you. They dish out tacos on Thursdays at the farmers market by the White House and on Sundays at the Dupont Circle farmers market. [WBJ]
