Mango Tree Gets a Boost

Placeholder

Mango Tree in CityCenterDC is still considered a new restaurant, yet it's already completed a changing of the guards. Chef Adrian Salazar took the reins as executive chef in May, swapping out 60% of the menu, which is now arguably more compelling. Mango Tree managing director Trevor MacKenzie tells us Millennial palates are responsible for the lean towards more daring dishes. Adrian earned his chops at Zaytinya, a restaurant that has launched the careers of many successful DC chefs, including Ripple's Marjorie Meek-Bradley and The Red Hen's Mike Friedman. We snapped Adrian’s crispy-fried rockfish adorned with green mango salad and splashed with sweet-and-sour tamarind sauce.
