If you’ve ever had a Mason Dixie Biscuit Co biscuit, it’s probably because they won Mess Hall's first Launch Pad competition. The culinary business plan contest was so fruitful that it's coming back for round two, with judges including Rose's Luxury chef Aaron Silverman and The Inn at Little Washington chef Patrick O’Connell. We were at Industree’s Launchology event on Monday afternoon when the lead team made the announcement: Union Market’s Richie Brandenburg, Mess Hall’s Al Goldberg and Ris’ Chef Ris Lacoste. It was an opportune place for the big reveal, given the audience included future restaurateurs. The winner will get to take over Ris’ stand inside Union Market for at least six months, plus other prizes, including mentorship. Mess Hall began accepting applications on April 16.
