Digital Healthcare and More
IP firm Sterne, Kessler's picked up a new practice: Digital Healthcare. We snapped director Michelle Holoubek at her standing desk. She tells us the firm did related work across practice groups for years, and it became so large that they created one group combining lawyers who specialize in areas including IT, optics, medical devices, to advise on the IP needs of new healthcare technology. That can be anything from big data tools for personalized healthcare, to smart prosthetics. Michelle's own background is in relativistic physics (and we won't even pretend to know what that entails).
Down the hall, we found Monica Riva Talley, who's the new chair of the firm's trademark, advertising, and anti-counterfeiting practice. (She was also on the design committee and art committee for the newly renovated office.) We snapped Monica in her office in front of a poster for Cirque du Soleil, a client she's worked with for more than a decade.
