When False Facts Are a Good Thing

Covington's Seth Tucker is usually putting his Harvard Law degree to work on litigation over insurance coverage. Last week, he turned it to an even more noble cause: the Washington Post's Style Invitational. Seth's submission for totally bogus sports trivia won from around 1,700 others: "Rosie Ruiz's hopes for winning the 1981 Marine Corps Marathon were dashed by Metro's weekend track maintenance on the Orange Line." (For those under 40, it's a nod to the woman who "won" the Boston Marathon in '80.) We snapped Seth yesterday with a WaPo illustration of his entry.

Soon, Seth will have a Lincoln bobblehead--the official Style Invitational trophy--to add to his desk. (The "Loser" shirt on the right comes from a third place submission to an earlier contest.) His Redskins football was created by a pro bono client in Alabama whom Seth and his team saved from the death penalty. Seth's now in the midst of his fourth death penalty case. You can also find him representing major oil companies, manufacturers, and other entities in insurance coverage disputes.
