DLA Piper Investigations Co-Chair Moves To Quinn Emanuel

Quinn Emanuel has a new partner in the firm's DC office: former DLA Piper global investigations co-chair and global cross border litigation chair Tara Lee, who also formerly headed the firm's NoVa office.

Tara started a few days ago, focusing on government investigations. Her past work has included high-profile FCPA and FCA cases. (Bisnow previously spoke with Tara about her role as the head of the then-newly launched cross-border litigation practice.)

Quinn Emanuel managing partner John Quinn says white collar and investigations is the firm's fastest-growing practice area and Tara can help expand that practice.

Last year, Tara was recognized by the National Law Journal as a "Pioneer and Trailblazer in Litigation," and by the Financial Times as one of the "Ten Most Innovative Lawyers in the US."

Quinn Emanuel, a 700-lawyer business litigation firm, has 18 offices globally and Tara says its "integrated global footprint" is part of her decision to join. In her previous role, she was often traveling around the world, from London, Paris and Brussels, to Somalia, Baghdad and Kabul, above. (This pic ran in a Bisnow story about Tara becoming DLA Piper NoVa MP.)

Before getting her JD, Tara attended the US Naval Academy and served as an officer in the US Navy, including in a helicopter squadron. A former Resident Fellow at the United States Naval Academy's Center for the Study of Professional Ethics, she also received the American Trial Lawyers Association Outstanding Military Trial Advocate Award while a Judge Advocate General.
