Former Death Row Inmate Fights For His Innocence
In 1990, Crosley Green was convicted of first-degree murder in 1990 and sentenced to death. After Crowell & Moring was referred Green's case from the ABA Death Penalty Project, the firm successfully argued to a Florida court to remove Green from death row in 2009. Crowell partners Keith Harrison (pictured), Bob Rhoad, and Jeane Thomas are part of Green's legal team. Now, CBS's 48 Hours says new evidence could free Green and ran an investigative piece on him this weekend. Green, who is serving a life sentence, has petitioned the federal court for the Middle District of Florida for a writ of habeas corpus seeking a new trial. Keith has said the case is "an example of race being a substitute for evidence."
