Sterne Kessler Staff Member Meets President, Plays Football On ESPN

By day, Shannon Whitehead is a billing specialist at IP law firm Sterne Kessler. After hours, she's an offensive guard for the full-contact women's football team the DC Divas. Her team won the 2015 Women's Football Alliance national championship.

The DC Divas became the first championship women's football team to be personally recognized by the President of the United States, when they visited the White House this March to meet Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. (In this photo, Shannon's above and to the right of the President.)

This weekend, the team will experience another first: becoming part of the first ever full-contact women's football game to be live-streamed on a national media platform.

The DC Divas will play against the Dallas Elite at the national championship in Pittsburgh in an attempt to become back-to-back champs.

Look out for Shannon—No. 65—and the DC Divas on ESPN3 and Go Live Sports Cast. As if those accomplishments weren't enough, there's also a documentary about the team set to air this fall at the Sundance Film Festival.
