Hey, You: This .Sucks
A new gTLD development is on the horizon: the domain name .Sucks. There have been more than 500 new gTLDs approved, and a company named Momentous, by way of its subsidiary Vox Populi, won the right to .Sucks through an ICANN auction in November. The "sunrise" period of early registration begins on Monday, reports MarketingLand.com. For those companies that defensively want to get in during the sunrise period to avoid having their brand stationed before the word "sucks," it'll cost $2,499—and that much each year to renew, says the publication. Vox Populi, according to MarketingLand.com, says the new gTLD will be a hub for conversation. In the meantime, we are sure many conversations are happening in GCs' offices about what to do with .Sucks. [ML]
