DLA Piper's Jay Epstien, who co-chairs the firm's US and global real estate practices, was recently honored with the 2015 Judge Learned Hand Award by the American Jewish Committee. He's flanked by the evening's keynote, former US Senate Majority Leader and DLA Piper Chairman Emeritus George Mitchell, and DLA Piper partner Fred Klein. Fred and DLA Piper NY co-managing partner Heidi Levine co-chaired the event, which drew 400 and raised more than $500k. Jay is well known as one of the country's top real estate lawyers, with clients that have included Target, Verizon and Boston Properties. (Bisnow featured both Jay and Fred as two of DC's Top Real Estate Lawyers.) Past Learned Hand honorees include former Akin Gump Chairman Bruce McLean, Steptoe International Trade and Investment practice chair Susan Esserman, and Polsinelli shareholder and former Patton Boggs managing partner Stuart Pape.
