LOUIS CITRON - NEW ENTERPRISE ASSOCIATES
Since joining the venture capital firm NEA in January 2001 and becoming its Chief Legal Officer, Louis Citron has helped raise seven investment partnerships and open beachhead offices in China and India. NEA partners with entrepreneurs to build technology and healthcare companies in new or emerging sectors like connected devices, artificial intelligence and immuno-oncology. Since 1978, it has raised successive funds in excess of $13B and participated in more than 200 IPOs and 300 acquisitions. Before joining NEA, Louis was SVP and GC of ING Group NV's US mutual fund operations from its inception and helped develop a 20 fund multi-class mutual fund complex offered through wire-houses and 401(k) programs.

- Louis met his wife in an elevator in 1992 in New York; he successfully made a good impression during the 22-story ride.
- He was a lawyer at Kramer Levin in New York while getting his tax LLM at NYU at nights.
- He started taking piano lessons in first grade and still plays on his grand piano at home.
- His first job was mowing lawns for a landscape company in high school. He quickly got promoted to driving the tractor mower with the power vacuum.
